Boys Gymnastics

Boys Recreational Gymnastics Program 

 

Our Boys School Age Recreational Gymnastics Program is offered to ages five and up. The classes are an hour long including a 15-minute warm-up. The students will rotate thru three events each class. Each class may have up to eight students to one coach. The Olympic events taught are: Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, P-Bars, High Bar and Trampoline. This program also focuses on developing listening skills, following directions, patience, taking turns, balance, memorization, confidence, self esteem, fine and gross motor skills, good manners, flexibility, strength, and of course gymnastics. This program is a wonderful way to get your child physically and mentally fit. And for those who are interested, it also prepares your child for an introduction to our outstanding competitive team programs. Men’s Gymnastics was also named by Men’s Fitness Magazine as the “World’s Toughest Sport.”

 

Men's Olympic Events

Floor - Floor combines tumbling skills with strength and balance parts on a 40' by 40' spring loaded mat.

Pommel Horse - Considered the hardest events by many gymnasts, Pommel Horse requires massive upper body strength while continuously circling the lower body around the horse without falling off.

Still Rings - Pure upper body strength.  What else can you say but...Iron Cross!

Vault - A successful Vault begins with a strong, accelerated run.  The best vaulters explode off the board with tremendous quickness, push off the Vault, and strive to "stick" the landing.

P-Bars - Requiring an athlete to support themselves throughout most of the routine, P-Bars is yet another strength event which develops such an ideal athlete.

High Bar - Scared of heights?  Then this event is not for you.  Swinging, releasing, regrasping, and high flying dismounts.  The most exciting Men's Gymnastics Event.

 

The Ideal Sport For Cross Training

Regardless if participants aspire to be a competitive gymnast or not, Gymnastics develops a well rounded, flexible, and extremely strong athlete.  Many top professional athletes have a background in Gymnastics.  Just watch the Olympics to gain appreciation of the athleticism and physique developed by this sport.

 

Program Rules & Dress Code       

Safety is priority when it comes to the dress code here at Juergen's. Gymnasts should wear a comfortable T-shirt or tank top and zipperless shorts or sweat pants. Bare feet is best. Since gymnasts are often spotted by their coach, loose clothing can cause safety hazards and are NOT recommended. Hair pulled back. No jewelry, gum, or candy. For the best experience, please come to class well rested, well fed, alert, and ready to work. Follow these simple guidelines and we're sure your experience here will be a pleasant one. Good luck and be prepared to have fun!
